PRLog - Jan. 3, 2012 - ORANGE, Calif. -- ORANGE, Calif.— Village Nurseries, a specialty grower for landscape professionals, today announced Dicksey Williams has been appointed to the newly-created position of marketing assistant. She is responsible for conducting the company’s key marketing initiatives, including its recent and ever expanding emphasis in social media. She will report to Kevin Chesshir, corporate director of sales and marketing.
During the past four years Ms. Williams was an independent sales and marketing consultant working with several companies within the horticulture industry. She assumed the creative lead in selecting color palettes, revitalizing seasonal holiday lines and analyzing proprietary products to determine which had the greatest potential to penetrate exclusive markets. Prior to that Ms. Williams worked as key accounts manager and then marketing coordinator for Hines Horticulture, Inc.
“Dicksey’s extensive experience within the horticulture industry will help us continue establishing Village Nurseries as the go-to wholesale nursery for new and superior plants—plants that allow landscape architects and designers to transform their visions into reality,” stated company CEO David House. “She will be especially valuable in spearheading the social media component of our marketing efforts, which is one of the linchpins of our new corporate branding campaign.”
“I am very excited to be with a company like Village Nurseries that recognizes the importance of the various social media platforms as communications tools,” Ms. Williams said. “In today’s world we need to interact with our customers in the formats they prefer: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others. Social media is especially important for informing landscape professionals of Village Nurseries’ ongoing commitment to new and exclusive plant varieties that distinguish us from our competitors.”
