At the core of Alta Vista Securities is the philosophy that strategies should capture the enduring and explainable market participant behavior. In 2007 Hurricane Felix made landfall on the North Atlantic region of Nicaragua. The hurricane's devastating winds and rain leveled the old-growth tropical forest on a gigantic scale. The Nicaraguan Government issued emergency contracts to our joint venture partners are at the head of the recovery efforts within a large segment of the disaster area.

As a result of these concessions, exotic woods like Rosewood, Mahogany, and Brazilian Cherry - sought after worldwide for their beauty and durability - are now available to timber markets worldwide. In fact all of the timber in the 176,000 acre concession has been pre-sold to the company's largest wholesalers. To fulfill these orders all the timber must be harvested within the next year before the timber begins to decay.
Operations are expected to begin in February of 2012.
