Follow on Google News | American And African Songwriters Receive Grammy Winner Support, Land 15 Songs on Latin-Rock Top 10Made in Africa and America. From Kansas City to Congo two songwriters create true world-pop music collaborating through Internet technology.
Hendrix-Myers met on Facebook after Myers posted a notice about her mother passing away (Hendrix communicated a condolence to Myers). After learning that Hendrix was a pop singer, Myers decided to mail a 10-track recorder along with several CDs of original songs to Jose in Kinshasa in an effort to accomplish a world pop blend for the American pop songs she wrote. “I was stunned when I received the first song re-made in Africa. I thought Jose had recorded the song with Quincy Jones. What stands out most for me most is Jose’s angelic purity of sound and inventive use of vocal percussion layers. Some critics say Jose sounds like an international Michael Jackson. He is very creative. I was very happy with what Jose Hendrix and his Congolese team produced in Africa. We love the creative process. We have completed 20 songs in this fashion”, Myers says. Darryl Swann, a Grammy-award winning producer of Macy Gray fame has taken notice of the songwriters recently producing their song, Kiando World Dance. http://ireport.cnn.com/ “I wanted to blend cultures into the music in an authentic way. I purposely include lyric lines in French and Spanish verses in the songs to attract people to our music from multiple cultures from around the world. I feel we are doing something truly different and new. Collaborating cross-continentally using technology we are creating true world pop songs,” Myers said. Since the songs use local African talent the project has created a micro-economy of artists and musicians living in Kinshasa. All 15 songs on the CD and all three worldwide debut launch CD music videos were recorded in Africa. The videos show the streets of Kinshasa in a rare glimpse into the colorful daily life in Congo. http://www.youtube.com/ Since the first meeting on Facebook, Hendrix and Myers have had the same philanthropic intentions. Through their project, KC2Congo (www.josehendrix.com) Hendrix said, “Global Warming is a song that highlights the issue of deforestation in Congo. There is room to grow and expand in Congo. Sharing music and educating through the arts is our main goal. Kelly and I are always focused on the kids, from Kansas City to Kinshasa; we want them all to have a dream.” Available on iTunes Booking USA Spring 2012 tour now. myeisleproductions@ www.josehendrix.com # # # Songwriting, product launches...with a focus on Congo and building a community recording studio for orphans and school children.
