PRLog - Dec. 31, 2011 - Here are just a few of the testimonials:
“First off, this isn’t a game, or a movie. Its a DVD-rom that can only be viewed on a DVD capable computer.
This the first 40 year run of the comic book X-men, currently titled Uncanny X-Men. It includes issues 1-461, in order by year, including Giant Size X-Men 1. It also includes all the annuals in a separate menu. These are high quality scans, all in PDF format.”
“Not only can you start from the beginning but you can see the evolution of the X-Men. Why Wolverine and Cyclops are always at each other’s throat, why the original X-Men are different from the current, how Phoenix’s powers emerged, how Professor X loss the use of his legs, power changes, huge plotlines and twists, etc.”
“I collected X-Men back in the 70′s and 80′s, and always loved the original team the best. My collection is now socked safely away from children and dogs and whatnot, but I can now enjoy every issue in prestine mint wherever I find myself, even take the whole kit and kaboodle on the road. A previous reviewer was frustrated at Mac OS X not being able to detect his DVD. He may want to get a replacement disk, because I can vouch personally that the DVD runs perfectly on my Mac portable.”
“I love this product. It is a great way to catch up on X-Men comics without hunting or breaking the bank.
It’s great to be able to read these stories from the beginning. An added bonus is that even the advertisements are scanned in. It’s funny to see the kinds of things people were buying in the 1960′s.
“I was a huge X-Men fan, but knew there was no way to go back and buy all the comics I missed growing up. This is a the next best thing. I’ve read some of the other reviews with people complaining that this didn’t contain all of the crossovers and side stories. I would also like for them to have been included, but realize that would have been almost impossible as the size of the Marvel Universe would have made it difficult to include any story that had anything to do with any member of the X-Men. If you are looking for a good place to start to catch up on all of the old X-Men stories and their history, I would highly recommend this.”
“I just got this dvd-rom and I love it! 485 issues of the Uncanny X-men, from the very first issue in 1963, to August 2005. The comics look gorgeous and are readable in entirety, including covers, ads, fan letters, etc. The only downside is this set is strictly Uncanny X-Men, so on crossovers like X-Tinction Agenda, or X-Cutioners’
