Florida Author to Teach "Eager Readers, Brighter Writers" Program during Literacy Week

Dec. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- Florida author, business owner and literacy coach, Sabrina K. Carpenter, has been asked to visit Jacksonville schools during literacy week, January 23rd-27th 2012. She will be implementing the reading groups and writing workshops from her own children’s literacy program, "Eager Readers, Brighter Writers" and encouraging the quest for knowledge within the students at Baldwin Middle Senior High School as well as the 3 elementary schools that feed into that school.  

“We’re slowly losing the fundamentals that are imperative for a productive society. Encouraging the love for reading and writing are a top priority to me. My "Eager Readers, Brighter Writers" literacy program is designed to do just that. I travel all over the country and teach children that literacy can be FUN!” Carpenter emphatically states.

Carpenter was contacted by Jessica Parrish, an ExCITE Academy Teacher and Reading Coach at Baldwin Middle Senior High School, in response to a press release that was issued in March about Carpenter’s celebrity reading during the National Education Association’s "Read Across America" program.

“Our focus is showing students our own reading/writing paths and the role both have played in our lives as both students and professionals.” Parrish says.

Carpenter grew up as an avid reader from a very young age with a passion for writing that began just as early. In 2006, she founded her professional writing firm, Perfected Pen, Inc., which specializes in business writing, Perfected Pen Publishing in 2010 and her children’s literacy program, "Eager Readers, Brighter Writers" in 2011. She also published her first two books in 2010; a collection of poetry entitled, Betting on One Percent and a dynamic children’s book, The Adventures of Isaiah James: Beach Boy.
