Vivid Marketing, Inc. -- A Review Of 2011!!!

We wanted to take a moment to recap this year’s accomplishments.  Wow - there were so many!

January wrapped up our six month long fundraiser for Operation Smile.  Collectively Vivid raised over $1,000 to contribute to the organizations next mission to remote locations of either Peru, Cambodia, or Rwanda.  “Rallying together to support such a great cause was fun and easy!  We held an organized happy hour at a local restaurant/bar, both a kickball and dodge ball tournament, and utilized family and friends to participate in a five day ‘donation blitz’”, said Assistant Manager Emily Moore.  Thanks to the entire team of event coordinators for your help with this!

Later in the month, the management team went to Dallas, TX for a conference called Keys to Success.  This conference allowed the team to continue its education on business, and of course it’s always cool to travel.

In February, another competition was set in play for Operation Smile.  The winners of this competition were congratulated with a long weekend at Deep Creek Ski Resort!!!  Thanks for all the support, and congratulations to the Leaders that earned the ability to go along for the trip!

The next month, for St. Patty’s day, all of the Leaders in the Maryland region met in Baltimore for a “Team Day.”  This day was designed for additional education and networking.  It was a huge success!

You know what they say about spring cleaning, right?  Well, in the month of April Vivid had a ton of cleaning, AND PACKING to do!  April 4, 2011 marked our first day of business in our expansion space in Columbia, MD.  The best part of the move? “Picking out the paint colors! President Chrysanthi Halkiotis said.  The colors are vibrant and energetic – gives off a great feel”.  Also, in April we had the ability to attend AMTP in Atlanta, GA.  This is an invite only conference which is designed specifically for additional, and advanced, leadership training.  Chrysanthi Halkiotis was able to attend, and she said;  “…it was a great experience, an amazing networking experience, and my plan is to have my future Assistant Manager(s) attend as well.”

Next up, the National Conference was June 24, 2011!  Promotions, awards, high-fives all around, and inspiring speeches is what the National Conference is all about. This year's location was...Nashville, Tennessee. Roughly 1,500 carefully selected, top performing attendees from across the United States and several from Canada gathered at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel to celebrate the year’s success and recognize those who exemplified excellence. Congratulations to all who received awards!

Although the summer starting the month before, things really started heating up in July when Vivid Marketing hired Darcey Schultz, the company’s Human Resource Manager.  Darcey graduated from Towson University in May 2011 with a Sports Management and Business Administration degree.  Darcey, who is originally from Annapolis, MD enjoys staying active, hanging with friends, and taking advantage of Baltimore’s coolest happy hour spots.  

After spending the summer training and developing some of the finest 2011 college graduates, September marked the first promotion ever at Vivid Marketing, Inc.  Emily Moore, a 2008 graduate of Virginia Polytechnic University with a Human Nutrition, Food and Exercise degree officially became part of the Management Team when her team hit, and surpassed the company’s goals.  Congratulations again to Emily Moore; we are all very proud of you!  Later that same month, the Management team celebrated at a R&R long weekend at the El Conquistador in Puerto Rico, and the following weekend at the annual year end trip to Ocean City, MD!

October was a busy month, that’s for sure!  Managing Partner Brandon Smith and Assistant Manager Emily Moore participated in The Under Armour Baltimore Half Marathon, while President Chrysanthi Halkiotis ran her first ever full marathon.  Great job guys – your hard work is inspirational!  The last two weeks in the month were learning opportunities for a handful of Vivid’s top performers.  A few of the company’s top leaders were selected to travel to Atlanta, GA for a week to observe and network with Organizational and Senior National Consultants.   Congrats to Amy Flynn, Kristen Hoagland, Yashira Velez, Brendan Kroneberger, and Jignesh Patel!  Last but not least, Vivid attended the quarterly Leadership Development Seminar, hosted at the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Baltimore.  Topics included future clients, upcoming expansions, and improving one's ability to lead.  Congratulations again to Kristen Hoagland for receiving the Top Leader’s Pin!

November, or should we say MOvember!  Not only did Vivid participate in raising money for prostate cancer awareness, but yes; the men in the office grew mustaches for the WHOLE MONTH!  For the Direct Energy team in the office, November held our BIGGEST WEEK EVER with a total of 161 acquisitions!  Way to go team! Also in November, Emily went to BBB in LA…which stands for Business Building Blocks.  This conference is specific for teaching the legals of how a business runs.  Emily is expected to be expanding at the beginning of 2012, and this was one of the finals steps in completing her training!

And so it is.  We wrap up the year in December with a company holiday themed brunch, and the BIGGEST SALES WEEK EVER on the Quill side – totaling over $18,000 of merchandise sold!  Great job to both Megan Bidgood and Mark Dunbar - who were ranked nationally in the Top 50 Reps that week.  Your focus, determination and hard work did not go unrecognized!

With the holiday’s coming to a close; Vivid Marketing decided to have their hand in one last charity for 2011.  Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve which donates toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas.  The office was able to gather over a dozen toy and we are confident that we were able to make some children very happy for Christmas.
