Dec. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- If a slimline smartphone is on your Santa list this year, two you might hope Father Christmas's elves are looking at are the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Motorola RAZR, two of the latest smartphones on the market.

Both are Android phones. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus, also known as the Nexus Prime, is the latest Google phone, and the very first handset to run the new operating system, Google Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Motorola RAZR, meanwhile, comes with Android 2.3.5, Gingerbread, although it will be compatible with an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich too – meaning you have a slick operating system and access to the very latest Google apps.

To the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Ice Cream Sandwich brings a great new security feature, called Face Unlock, with which your phone will recognise your face and enable you to unlock it by looking at the 1.3 megapixel front facing camera. Because everything is about sharing these days, there is also a feature called Android Beam, which enables you to share contacts, applications and much more between two NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled Android devices.

The web browser, calendar and 5 megapixel rear facing camera with LED flash are all improvements on previous models, and the camera can shoot HD video in 1,080p.

The Motorola RAZR can also record 1,080p content thanks to the powerful 8 megapixel camera. You can attach it to an HD dock and control it using a wireless keyboard, mouse or Smart Controller (these items are sold separately) then watch your filming back on an HD display.

You can use the MotoCast application to wirelessly stream content, including photos, videos and music, from up to five computers. Whatever the format, the RAZR and Motorola's MotoCast will convert it for use on the RAZR.

The RAZR comes with a stunning 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Advanced with a 960 x 540 resolution. It also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G capabilities. To handles this mass of features, the RAZR also has a 1780mAh battery. What's more, all of this is packed into just 7.1mm.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB RAM and a 4.65 inch Super AMOLED display.  http://www.clove.co.uk

Clove Technology sells the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for £514.80 including VAT. The Motorola RAZR is on sale for £454.80 including VAT, and comes with a free Motorola MOTOROKR EQ3 Compact Wired Speaker set worth £20.
