Hawaii's Ocean Sports Announces New Cultural Canoe Paddling Excursions

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 28, 2011 - The team at Hawaii’s Ocean Sports at Anaeho’omalu Bay had a couple of  goals in mind when creating their new Outrigger Canoe Paddling Excursion…they wanted to give Big Island visitors and residents an opportunity to understand an integral part of Hawaiian Culture, but they also wanted it to be fun. And with the launching of their new Outrigger Canoe Paddling Excursion program, they’ve made this dream a reality.

Paddlers in this one hour program meet at the shoreline, where the experienced Nanea Kai Beach Boyz will instruct them on correct paddling techniques, and teach Hawaiian canoe terminology and Hawaiian canoe chants. Paddling across the sheltered waters of Anaeho’omalu Bay, guests will get to experience the power and speed of this ancient form of transportation while learning about the significance of the Bay and surrounding areas in Hawaiian history.  Excursions even include time for a quick swim over the Bay’s Turtle Cleaning Station! This excursion is offered daily from 8:30 – 3:30 on the hour and costs $27.00 per person.
