Jan. 2, 2012 - Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. (WBTB) has released the applications for its 2012 Law Enforcement Children’s Scholarship Program. The scholarship provides financial assistance for the higher educational needs of the children (natural or adopted) of law enforcement officers. Applicants must be a dependent child of a law enforcement officer (full-time active service, retired, or killed in the line of duty), must be enrolled at or accepted to an accredited four-year college/university or community college, must have a cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.3 or higher (based on a 4.0 system), and must be active in the community through volunteer work. These children are eligible to submit an application for the two available scholarships – a first prize, which is a one-time payment in the amount of $1000.00, and a second prize, which is a one-time payment in the amount of $500.00.
Applicants must complete and submit an application by April 13, 2012. The scholarship committee will review applications and the WBTB Board of Directors will announce the winner during the first week of May 2012. Visit
