United Farmers Cooperative to Expand to Marquette, NE

Dec. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- York, NE – Members of the United Farmers Cooperative signed a letter of intent to purchase the Marquette, NE based Midwest Ag Partners LLC.  Headquartered in York, Nebraska, United Farmers Cooperative will increase regional efficiency and reliability with the addition of the following services in Marquette, NE; Agronomy, Grain, Energy and Feed.  

The acquisition will allow United Farmers Cooperative to better serve their producers in Hamilton and Merrick counties.  With the purchase of the Marquette location, it will bring United Farmers Cooperative’s total locations to 32 in Nebraska and Kansas, according to CEO Carl Dickinson.

“By purchasing the Marquette location, it will hold up our core mission and values by being innovative while at the same time growing stockholders values.”  Dickinson said.

Dickinson also went on to say, “We are always looking for the right fit for United Farmers Cooperative.  It’s not about growth, but more about ‘Does it make sense to our current producers?’  If we can clearly see the value and we see the opportunity for success, then it is a natural fit.”

The Marquette location will be primarily an Agronomy office.  “The former Marquette customers will be able to enjoy the Products, Services and Information of a full service cooperative and in addition will have the ability to extract the innovative services such as the UFC Acre advantage, VRT and the RD series.” says Don Swanson VP of Agronomy.  “By coupling the Midwest Ag Partners’ employees with United Farmers Cooperative’s locations, the labor efficiencies will be enhanced accross the board.”
