The StagePlay "Why Am I Still Single?" Written and Directed by Antonio G. Wells

Jan. 4, 2012 - PRLog -- Get ready to laugh until you cry and cry until you laugh at the debut of the StagePlay "Why Am I Still Single?"  Written, Directed and Produced by South Florida's own, Playwright Antonio G. Wells!

After the loss of both her parents and her fiance Derek, Ruth finds herself at wits end. Ruth musters up enough courage and presses her way through undergrad studies and law school. With the misguided guidance of her Aunt Dott and Uncle Shakespear, Ruth manages her home, career and tolerates her aunt and uncle.

After celebrating her 30th birthday the question that resounds in Ruth's mind is "Why Am I Still Single?" Naomi, Ruth's best friend, has a remedy, she decides to call all of their college friends and Ruth's mentor, First Lady Marilyn Phelps, over for a"Get Together"

The "Get Togther" planned by Naomi, Ruth's best friend,  will reveal secrets that will thrust Ruth back to square one. Pastor  Phelps, (played by Gary Williams) and First Lady Phelps (played by Aneatra Clark) secret gets revealed first and causes a chain reaction in the house. This chain reaction will cause Ruth to wonder, to ponder and say, "Why Am I Still Single?

Aunt Dott is played by South Florida's own Comedian Natasha Naomi Calloway. Natasha , in her role as Aunt Dott, will leave you in stiches and wondering, "What planet did Aunt Dott come from." Up and coming Actor Galvin plays the role of Uncle Shakespear who hardly ever comes out of his room except to get his daily dose of CoCo Puffs. Francheska (played by Zipporah Wells) and Freddy (played by Jordan Fitzpatrick), the dynamic sister and brother duo, will pop up at times and say the darndest things.  Tameka Lowe plays the role of Cousin FeFe, who has yet to master the art of thinking before she speaks. Vanessa Wilcox plays the role of Erica, the daughter that is just looking for answers. Comedian Natarsha Davis, plays the role of Naomi, Ruth's best friend that loves her and does not hesitate to tell her the truth in love. Marsha Grandison plays the role of FeFe's nemesis: the intelligent, fashionable Ruby, the friend with the "6 figure salary" who hails from the Island of Jamaica and inspite of her success, her husband still work "three job" Shelete Fairchild plays the role of Vanessa who's marriage is beyond the rocks and makes sure her girlfriends never find out, or will they? Shameka Lang, plays the role of Jada, a young lady that is screaming silently because of her mother Vanessa's inability to see the importance and need of communication with her daughter. Hopie Hutchinson plays the role of Rauqel, who will do anything to become a United States citizen. Martye Benjamin plays the roll of Jethro, a guy with a speech impedement that finally gets to tell Rauqel how he feels about her games, if he ca, ca, ca, can. Everyone is still trying to figure out who in the world is playing the role of "Joe the Telephone Man" I wonder? Well, it's Comedian Cornbread. The annoying Joe the Telephone Man who is an unlicensed handy man, who always seems to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. South Florida's own, the anointed and gifted BJ Williams will be playing the role of Boaz, a man that is waiting on Ruth to discover that they were destined for each other.South Florida's very own Comedian Sista Watermelon plays herself in this stage play and she will surely have you smiling and laughing upon her arrival on the scene. Last but not lease, introducing, Magdalina Hernandez as Ruth,  the one that has to deal with all of the personalities, complexities and drama or will she?
