Dec. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- The Dubai World Cup is now firmly established as a premier event in the worldwide racing calendar and, with its top quality field of participants from across the globe, it is a day of truly international racing. Racing will return to Meydan for the 5 Jan - 10 Mar 2012 season with a total of 21 meetings scheduled from November 10, 2011 through to the closing program, the spectacular Dubai World Cup on March 31, 2012.

The season will be the third to be held at the magnificent Meydan Racecourse. Last year proved another successful season with Japan’s Victoire Pisa being crowned the Dubai World Cup champion.

In addition to the action-packed Meydan racing, the prominent Dubai World Cup Carnival will be contested January through March with 16 fixtures to be offered. The 3rd Meydan Masters International Jockey Challenge will kick off the Dubai World Cup Carnival on January 5 and will run through to the famed 17th running of the Dubai World Cup.

World Cup - the Emirate World Series holds an important horse race in Dubai every March. Competitors from around the world race for a chance to win the first prize of a staggering US$6 million.

Attracting some of the best horses in the world, Dubai International Racing Carnival offers more than a million dollars in prize money. Races are held at the Meydan Racecourse, where dining and games such as Tricast add to visitors' entertainment.
