Energy Smart Homes announces Charlotte renovation project

Energy Smart Homes has completed the retrofit of 78 homes in Charlotte area to help conserve energy

Charlotte North Carolina, December 16th:  Energy Smart Homes (ESH) was awarded a contract with the City of Charlotte Neighborhood Energy Challenge to audit and retrofit 2 neighborhoods to be energy efficient.  78 homes have been already completed in the NODA and Ecodistrict areas. With 12 more homes awarded December 19th in the Wilmore and Plaza Midwood neighborhoods.  Each home was audited to find energy deficiencies. With a $2,000 benefit to each home owner allotted for an energy retrofit. The Neighborhood Energy Challenge encourages neighborhood level involvement to implement their energy action plan.   Owner Jeff DeSart says “this program allows access to energy efficiency at any income level, and we look forward to working with more”. Energy Smart Homes continues to bid on similar projects in the Carolinas to continue to help the environment.
