PRLog - Dec. 26, 2011 - Cock Douglas announced today a planned stop to Damascus ahead of his European tour to play a free concert and stand with the people of Syria against Bashar Al-Assad. He has been in contact with protestors via the web based chat site Twitter. This will be the first American to perform a concert of this type in Syria since the uprising began. " I am seeing these people killed everyday, no one has come to there aid, no one has spoken up for them and said this must stop," said Douglas through his publicist David Rosenberg. The people of Syria continue to march and protest against the dictatorship of Bashar Al-Assad despite the brutal and inhumane treatment by the military wing of Assad's self ruled government. Today more than forty people were killed by military forces in an intense shelling assault just as the Arab League monitors reached Damascus. " I want the people of Syria to know that the American's do care about their plight and we stand with them against this tyranny and totally support their efforts for freedom." said Douglas to reporters. The Assad regime has announced that any Douglas concert would be immediately and harshly dealt with. The regime does not endorse or agree with Douglas or his attempts to encourage the people of Syria.
