Dec. 23, 2011 - PRLog -- The NFL Week 15 is history and so are the Eagles’ chances of making the playoffs.  The action is explosive and the nerve-shattering intensity is so thick you could curt it with a knife.

Take a look at some of last week’s highlights at http://www.inspin.com

•    The ‘Dirty Birds’ blowout the Jaguars 41-14…and set-up an NFC South showdown with plenty of implications.

•    Dallas beats the Bucs 31-15 to secure 1st place in the NFC East….but will the Eagles shake-up the division this weekend?

•    The Dolphins lose head coach Sparano…but refuse to lose to the last place Bills.

•    Chicago loses 38-14 to the resurgent Seahawks...no Cutler + no Forte = NO offense.

•    The Colts win their first to get to 1-13…and the Packers lose their first to go to 13-1. Polar Opposites!

•    Texans bubble breaks…Cam and the Panthers roll to 5-9.

•    Lions excite with a 4th quarter comeback…think the Bengals really miss Carson Palmer?

•    Tebow wins again in the 4th quarter…just kiddin!

•    San Diego gets to .500 with a 34-14 blowout of the Ravens…could Turner keep his job if they win the AFC West?

Will Week 16 be as action-packed and exciting? You betcha’. Let’s get it on!

Pick #1

Minnesota Vikings (2-12, 1-6 away) vs. Washington Redskins (5-9, 2-5 home)

The Inspin NFL Simulator made the spread on this game Redskins -3-110. There is value betting the Vikings at +7.5-120 or better. This is an Inspin.com 2-Star FREE pick.

The Minnesota Vikings have lost six straight games and fell to 2-12 on the season. Quarterback Christian Ponder has regressed over the past few weeks and has shown no signs of improvement.

Sounds like a recipe for a loss right? …WRONG!

The Minnesota Vikings have the 4th ranked rushing offense in the National Football League. They average 5.2 yards an attempt and 142.7 yards per game. Who is the person leading that attack? In case you forgot its Adrian Peterson.

In his first game back last week vs. the Saints he rushed for 60 yards on 10 carries. Expect him to be much more involved in the offense this week vs. the Redskins.

The Minnesota Vikings have one of the best running backs in the entire NFL. He’s healthier now than he has been over the past few weeks and this team is not ready to lie down. At 2-12 they have the potential to be the worst team in Vikings history. However, I don’t see them having the intention of allowing that to happen. Here’s a quote from linebacker Erin Henderson:

“The Vikings have been around for 51 years now," linebacker Erin Henderson said. "You don't want to be the worst team that's come through this locker room."

Inspin sponsor Wagerweb.com has the line listed on this game Redskins -6.5-110. However, 81+% of the betting action has been on the favorite, so wait until this game goes up to -7 or better.

Expect the Vikings to come out strong and hard vs. a Redskins team basking in the sunlight of last week’s big division win. Quarterback, Rex Grossman, has been horrendous this season, but continues to get the starting nod. No starting quarterback with 13 td’s and 18 int’s in the season should be a -6.5-110 point favorite.  The Vikings +7.5-120 is a solid winner at FedEx Field.

Pick #2

San Francisco 49ers (11-3, 4-2 away) vs. Seattle Seahawks (7-7, 4-3 home)

The Inspin Simulator made the point spread on this game San Francisco pk-110. There is value betting the Seahawks +3.5-130 or better. This is an Inspin.com 2-Star FREE pick.

The 49ers are on a short week and are riding high after a HUGE win over the Steelers. They will have little time to prepare, which is not good for any team heading to Qwest Field, the loudest stadium in the NFL.

Why is Quest Field so loud and tough for visiting quarterbacks? Is it because the fans are all amped up on Starbucks? NO! It’s the design of the stadium. The overhangs keep the noise in and have made the 12th man famous in Seattle.

Last season in week 1 the 49ers lost 31-6 at Seattle. Quarterback Alex Smith had one of the worst performances of his career. He completed 26 of 45 passes with 2 interceptions for a quarterback passer rating of 52.5. At 7-7 the Seahawks are fighting for a playoff spot, so don’t expect things to be any easier.

The crowd will be inspired and loud and the Seattle defense will feed off of their excitement. The defense is currently ranked 8th in the NFL allowing 327.0 yards/game, not good news for a 49ers team which has struggled to score over the past few weeks.

Inspin sponsor Wagerweb.com has the 49ers listed at -2-110.

Here’s a tasty betting trend from the Inspin.com database: Seahawks are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games as an underdog. (that’s a 100% winner)

Expect an excited Seahawks defense and crowd to shut-down Alex Smith and the 49ers offense. Quarterback Tavaris Jackson will do enough with his arm and legs to keep the Seahawks out in front. Get the hook on this game at Wagerweb. Take the +3.5-130 and bank it this weekend at a rowdy Quest Field.

Pick #3

Atlanta Falcons (9-5, 4-3 away) vs. New Orleans Saints (11-3, 6-0 home)

The Inspin Simulator made the spread on this game Saints -3-110. There is value betting the Falcons at +7.5-120 or better. This is an Inspin.com 2-Star FREE pick.

There are huge playoff implications in this game and the bookmakers have not properly credited value to the Falcons. Here is the scenario:

New Orleans locked up a playoff spot last week with their 42-20 win over the Vikings.  A win this week would lock-up the division and earn them a first-round bye.

The Falcons are on the proverbial playoff bubble. A win this week would secure at least a wild-card spot. If they win out and the Saints lose vs. the Panthers next week the Falcons take the division and the first-round bye. A loss this week would put their hopes of even making the playoffs in serious jeopardy.

What is the bottom line? The Saints want to win but the Falcons NEED to win. Does this mean they will win the game and you should bet the moneyline? Of course not, but it helps to justify taking the +7.5-120.

Handicappers look for what they call ‘spots’. The ‘spots’ are the games where intangibles are not factored into the odds. This is definitely one of those games. The NFL schedule-makers did the Falcons a huge favor this season. It has been 11 days since the Falcons beat the Jaguars 41-14 on Thursday Night. The extended time is equivalent to a bye-week. The Falcons used this time to rest physically and prepare mentally.

“The rest was definitely appreciated and I think it will show up [on Monday],” Center Todd McClure said.

The spread on this game is listed as New Orleans Saints -6.5-110.

Expect the Falcons to be rested and prepared heading into this game. They are healthier at this point than they have been all season. The implications are huge and they will fight to the end to guarantee that playoff spot. Bet Atlanta +7.5-120 and bank it this Monday Night at the Superdome.
