When Washington Post reporter Nate Hallberg is assigned to profile high-powered political consultant Jonathan Drees, he uncovers the startling reality that American politics has been controlled by vampires for over 200 years.  Pursuit of Darkness follows Hallberg's heroic struggle to overcome his personal demons and expose the evil at the center of American politics.

Pursuit of Darkness is a new novel by Jeff Gillenkirk, published by Nine Mile Press. Gillenkirk is a former speechwriter for New York Governor Mario Cuomo, campaign strategist for U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, and communications consultant for numerous public officials and non-profit organizations.  His previous books include Bitter Melon: Inside America's Last Rural Chinese Town (Heyday Books), and the novel Home, Away (Chin Music Press). He has lived in Washington, D.C., New York, San Francisco, Paris and other world capitals.
