The award-winning campaign held yearly at Smith’s Food and Drug in Las Vegas, Nevada on the 4th Saturday in October is organized by Vail (http://www.maryvailpublicist.com) to benefit the Las Vegas Chapter Salvation Army Food Bank as part of the national USA Weekend Magazine MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY, a nationwide charity event recognized as the “nation’s largest day of doing good.” The 2010 food drive collected over 6,680 lbs of nonperishable foods and personal hygiene items.
In addition to organizing the drive, Vail worked with graphic artist Stephanie Zobrist, to develop the creative design for the campaign that featured custom wrapped food cans.
Zobrist a student at UNLV, eagerly took on the challenge of designing the event poster that included a photo of the cans, and event information, as well as images of guest celebrity supporters and a series of sponsor logos.
The entry was selected as a winner from over 6,000 entries throughout the United States, Canada and several other countries.
