JWor’s Language Tune-Up Kit (LTK®) To Be Compatible With Microsoft’s Windows 8 Platform

Dec. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- The Language Tune-Up Kit (LTK®) is an interactive reading software program that helps develop reading skills using the Orton-Gillingham phonics method, widely-recognized as the best method for teaching all types of learners who have reading difficulties. LTK uses prerecorded human voices to impart instruction, so it feels like the student is working with a teacher. The prerecorded voice sounds out letter combinations and then makes them into words so the student can hear them clearly and easily. LTK combines audio, visual and tactile-kinesthetic (doing) exercises, so it appeals to three of the main learning styles throughout the instruction process, providing a broad range of teaching value and maintaining the student’s interest.

The Language Tune-Up Kit (LTK) versions 8.0 and later have been tested with Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8 platform.

The LTK software is perfect for students aged 6 to adult, who currently read at grade levels 0 to 4. There are two homeschooling programs: LTK At Home and LTK For Kids. Each program maintains a complete record-keeping function for two students, all lessons. Each student begins with the LTK Placement Test to ascertain his/her existing reading and language skill level and the parent instructor then knows where to begin teaching. LTK also provides four reports – bar graph for each lesson and activity; an overview of progress; specific errors; a summary of the student’s score since beginning the program and the placement, based on the placement test.
