PRLog - Dec. 21, 2011 - PHILADELPHIA -- Friday December 30, 2011 will be The First AfriCaribbean Comedy Blowout Philadelphia.  This culture unifying night will begin at 9 pm with an after-party to follow after the show going until 2 am.

In this night of laughs Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Africa, Dominican Republic and U.S.A. will be represented.  Owen "Blakka" Eliis, the legend of the group will be representing Jamaica.  He's starred on stage and film and well known from the comedy duo Bello & Blakka. Marc Trinidad of Toronto will be representing Trinidad & Tobago.  He was the first Canadian comedian to appear on BET's Comic View.  Ruperto Vanderpool is representing Dominican Republic.  He has appeared in movies like: "The Cookout" with Queen Latifah, "Carlito's Way: Rise to Power", etc.  He is hysterical and promises the "Blacktino" will wreck Philly.  Trixx of Toronto will represent Africa. He was just voted 2011 Best Comedian by COCA (Canadian Organization of Campus Activities). A.G.White will represent Brooklyn, U.S.A. with his brand of side splitting, jaw cramping comedy as seen on HBO's P. Diddy's Bad Boyz of Comedy. The host of the evening will be film star Paul Campbell of movies:" Dancehall Queen", "Shottas", "First Sunday" with Ice Cube and Tracy Morgan and many other works.  Tessanne Chin of Jamaica is the musical entertainment and phenomenal voice that will simply wow the crowd. Her unique sound is a fusion of reggae, rock and soul that she makes her own.  She will be singing her most notable tunes including "Hideaway".

This landmark event will be a welcome to the region.  Shows of this magnitude are a rarity in the Philadelphia tri-state.  Caribbean American, African communities and  all Delaware Valley residents can come out, laugh and hopefully have energy to dance at the after-party once the show ends.  After all this is a pre-New Years Eve comedy bonanza.

This night will be monumental and we want everyone to know.  This is the first show of this sort in this region in a very long time and Corulion promises it will not be the last. By the time the new year officially chimes in we will have already been filled with memories of laughter, peace and love from hours before.  Unity!

Tickets are $45 in advance and $50 at the door.  Tickets are available at Ticketfly.com, just enter Starlight Ballroom in the search and this event will pop right up.

The Starlight Ballroom is located at 460 N. Ninth St., Phila. Pa 19123. (between Spring Garden and Vine Sts.)
