Dec. 21, 2011 - PRLog -- For almost 200 years Wadhurst Castle in East Sussex has been a closely guarded secret.  A family home with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, it is now opening its doors for couples looking for a unique wedding venue.   Built in the Regency period between 1818 and 1820, the castle commands magnificent panoramic views of the beautiful Sussex countryside, providing a stunning backdrop for  weddings and civil partnership ceremonies.

Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Wadhurst Castle is the ultimate romantic venue.  In winter, the castle provides a beautiful and cosy setting, with a choice of three rooms to hold the ceremony.  The intimacy of the Moncrieff Room, or the Victorian charm of the Winter Garden, with its ever changing display of exotic plants, are ideal for smaller weddings; while the grandeur of the Drawing Room works well for larger numbers.  In summer, the landscaped gardens burst to life and the newly restored Walled Garden is a magical place to exchange vows.  Available for exclusive use hire, all aspects can be tailored to individual tastes – from flowers and décor to the catering and entertainment – providing a beautiful canvas to create the perfect day.

“A wedding is one of the most special days in any couple’s life and at Wadhurst Castle we want to make all their dreams a reality.  We work closely with couples from that initial visit to the day itself, to ensure the day is perfect.  We also work with a number of external suppliers who we know will provide a level of service that will make the day even more wonderful,” comments Georgina Hovey, wedding co-ordinator.

The venue can accommodate weddings of up to 200 people and, for couples wishing to make the day a truly unforgettable experience for themselves and their guests, wedding receptions can be held on the South Lawn, taking in the wonderful views across the Sussex countryside.

“Wadhurst Castle has been our family home since 1955.  It provides a stunning setting for weddings and we are thrilled to be able to share it with couples looking for that ‘wow’ factor for their big day,” comments Susanna Fitzgerald, owner of Wadhurst Castle.

In addition to the castle itself, the Wadhurst Castle Estate has a luxury three bedroom house within the grounds with its own private walled garden.  Castle Cottage can sleep up to eight guests - perfect for bridal preparations and wedding guests with the castle just a few steps away.

Wadhurst Castle can also offer additional services to make a wedding even more special, including confetti made from freeze dried rose petals in ivory, tinged with soft pink,  apple juice pressed from the estate’s own trees and champagne truffles, expertly made by a local chocolatier and perfect for wedding favours.
