Dec. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Linkin Park is making Haiti's holiday season bright. By supporting and spreading the United Nation's 2012 International Year of Sustainable Energy For All campaign, the band will be able to bring electricity to the country. Hoping to encourage others to help the planet as well, MyCleaningProducts, on the other hand, suggested the use of green cleaning products.

According to the lead vocalist of the band, Mike Shinoda, they chose Haiti because the country is experiencing energy poverty. He cited that about 8 million people who don't have access to electricity are in Haiti.

With only $10 donation to Power The World, one solar light bulb will be given to a family who only relies on a candle or kerosene for a light. And more than just helping the children study and their parents work at night, the campaign also provides clinic light for continued medical services even after dark.

“Linkin Park is an award-winning band. With multiple nominations and recognitions from various award-giving bodies in the United States and Europe, you can definitely say that they're  one of the most popular bands of today's generation?”
“But did you know that they are also green musicians?”

“This holiday season, Linkin Park is bringing solar light to Haiti as part of the United Nation's 2012 International Year of Sustainable Energy for All campaign. The band chose Haiti as it is still struggling to get everything back together after the very destructive 2012 earthquake that hit the country. Also, out of the 1.3 billion people who live without electricity, 8 million of them are from Haiti.”

“At $10 donation to the Power The World, one solar light bulb will be given to every Haitian family without electricity. With the campaign, Link Park asks for support not just for children to be able to study and their parents to be able to work but also for medical services to be provided even after the sun sets.”
