Dec. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Sabrina Campbell, owner of Occasionally Cake of Alexandria, Va. was one of three cake designers invited by Food Network’s Ashley Vicos to create a 4-foot tall cake for the Bravo Battery, 1st Battalion, 9th Field Artillery(1-9), located at Fort Stewart, near Hinesville, Ga. Working with Vicos and two other cake designers, Campbell spent a week in Georgia helping create the vanilla cake with chocolate-fudge filling, replicating a big, sculpted tank, set adjacent to a decorative Christmas tree, and presented the cake to the Battalion at their annual Christmas Ball at the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum in Pooler, Ga. The 1st Battalion, 9th Field Artillery (1-9) had invited Ashley Vicos, host of the Food Network’s, “Have Cake Will Travel” as a way to welcome soldiers home and boost morale. Dawn Food Products, Inc. of Jackson, Mich. stepped in to help with all the travel expenses for the cake decorating team.

“I was so honored to be asked by Ashley Vicos to work on this project and excited to be able to give back to the hard-working military men and women,” said Sabrina Campbell, owner and baker at Occasionally Cake. “Let’s remember all of our armed forces working overseas, stationed away from their families during this holiday season.”
The Alexandria cake boutique offers more than 100 cake flavors, but their signature cake flavors include: Summer Delight, a white, almond sour cream cake with pear and raspberry fillings iced in buttercream; Chocolate Madness, a chocolate truffle cake filled with chocolate ganache and iced in rich chocolate icing; Perfectly Pumpkin, moist pumpkin cake filled with eggnog filling and iced in a cream cheese icing; and Pink Champagne, a pink pomegranate cake filled and iced in a champagne butter-cream.
