James Faust, MD of Heywood Hospital Earns NEHA Trustee Award

Dec. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Gardner, MA - Dr. James Faust, a long-time greater Gardner physician, and member of the Heywood Hospital Medical Staff, has been recognized with the Trustee Leadership Award by the New England Health Care Assembly (NEHA).

Dr. Faust, who is retiring after 32 years of service to the community as a family practictioner, was recognized for his dedication as a Heywood Hospital board member. As the first physician appointed to the board of trustees at Heywood Hospital in 1989, Dr. Faust has done much during his tenure to facilitate communication between administrators and physicians.

“His commitment to ensuring our hospital continues to meet the healthcare needs of the local population is paramount,” wrote Heywood Hospital President & CEO Win Brown in his nomination. “One year he personally delivered 200 babies in the community… Yes, he even made house calls and continues to check on elderly residents.”

NEHA’s Trustee Leadership Award is presented annually to honor the significant contributions of a hospital trustee whose achievements have been of exceptional value to healthcare. This year, Dr. Faust shares the 2011 award with Vermont State Sen. Gerry Gossens (D-Addison).
