Westchester County Association Announces New Officers and Members of Their Board of Directors

Dec. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Bill Mooney, President of the Westchester County Association, announced today the election of new officers and members to the WPA’s Board of Directors. William Harrington, Esq., Partner at Bleakley Platt & Schmidt, LLP, will become the organization’s new Chairman. He presently serves as the Chair of WCA’s Blue Ribbon Task Force on Healthcare Reform. Paula Mandell, a senior vice president for M&T Bank Corporation and the regional president for M&T Bank’s Tarrytown region, will serve as Vice Chair of the Board. Ale Frederico, Senior Vice President, TD Bank, will continue as Corporate Secretary; and Frank Schettino, CPA and Managing Partner, Anchin, Block & Anchin LLP will continue as Treasurer. For his outstanding service to the Westchester County Association, Al DelBello will become the organization’s first Chairman Emeritus.

Mooney also announced the election of six new members to the WCA’s Board of Directors: Peter Belmont, CFO of C.W.Brown, Inc; Judith Huntington, President, The College of New Rochelle;  Michael Israel, President and CEO of Westchester Medical Center;  Daniel Papes, Vice President, Cloud Solutions, IBM Global Technology Services;  Brendan Meyer,  currently Chair of WCA’s Young Professionals, Financial Advisor, Northwestern Mutual, The Seery Group; and Lawrence Otis Graham, Special Counsel, Cuddy & Feder LLP

Officers, Westchester Board of Directors - BIOS

Peter Belmont’s career began at Deloitte & Touche in New Haven, CT, where he earned his Certified Public Accountant’s license.  Mr. Belmont joined Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Engines in East Hartford, CT, where he was responsible for the consolidation and financial reporting of all of its worldwide entities. He joined C.W. Brown Inc. as the Chief Financial Officer in 2002, where he is responsible for all financial and administrative aspects of the company.  Mr. Belmont is a member of the Connecticut Society of CPAs, committee chairman of the Mustard Seed Fund in Southbury, and a board member of the Southbury/Middlebury Youth and Family Services. He received a BS from The University of Connecticut.  

Ale Frederico is Senior Vice President – Group Manager, TD Bank Government Banking.   Alé joined TD Bank in 2005 and has 25 years of banking experience working in varied capacities.  She serves on several business and not for profit boards including: Mid-Hudson Region Economic Development Council; Westchester County Industrial Development Agency; Trustee of Westchester Community College; Board of Directors of White Plains Hospital Center.  She is Chair and past-president of the Westchester Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a founding Board member of 100 Hispanic Women Leaders – Westchester Chapter.  

Lawrence Otis Graham, Special Counsel at Cuddy & Feder, is a New York Times bestselling author of 14 books, a TV commentator on News12 and past guest on “Today” and “Good Morning America.”  Mr. Graham serves as chairman of the Westchester County Police Board and serves on the boards of Purchase College Foundation, Good Counsel Academy, and the Horace Mann School.  A lifelong Westchester resident, he has been honored by the Urban League, the American Jewish Committee, and has taught American Government as well as African American Studies at Fordham.  He is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School.

William P. Harrington, Partner at Bleakley Platt & Schmidt, LLP, is an experienced trial attorney who has represented Fortune 500 companies in criminal, commercial, environmental, civil rights, real estate and employment discrimination matters. He has been Litigation and Environmental Counsel to the Town of Pound Ridge, New York since 1988, and served as a member of Governor Pataki’s Federal Judicial Screening Committee from 2001 to 2006. In 2007 and 2008, Mr. Harrington was recognized as a “Super Lawyer” in the New York Metropolitan Area.  He earned a JD from Fordham University School of Law and a BA from the College of William & Mary.

Judith Huntington assumed the position as the 13th president of The College of New Rochelle on July 1, 2011, after completing a full year as President-elect. She joined the College as Vice President for Financial Affairs in 2001. Prior to joining CNR, she worked for 15 years with the accounting firm KPMG LLP. She serves on the Lower Hudson Valley Catholic Consortium, and is a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education’s evaluation team. Ms. Huntington is a former member of the Yorktown Central School District Board of Education. She is a certified public accountant and holds a BS from Pace University.  

Michael D. Israel, President and CEO of Westchester Medical Center since 2005,  has over 30 years of healthcare experience. He was the COO of the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System based in Great Neck, NY.  From 1993 – 2002, he served as the CEO of Duke University Hospital, the University’s Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs, and as Vice President of the Duke University Health System. Mr. Israel holds a Master of Public Health, Hospital Administration, from Yale University and a BA from Rutgers College.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.   He serves on the boards of New York Medical College, Yale University School of Public Health Leadership Council and the Northern Metropolitan Hospital Association.

Paula Mandell is a senior vice president for M&T Bank Corporation and the regional president for M&T Bank’s Tarrytown region, which includes Rockland and Westchester Counties, as well as the New Jersey region. She joined M&T Bank in 1992 as a vice president and senior relationship manager within the commercial bank.  Ms. Mandell has served on many boards including the Rockland Economic Development Corporation, Rockland Chapter of the American Cancer Society, United Way of Westchester and Putnam, Rockland Business Association and the Girl Scout Council.

Brendan Meyer, CFP® is a financial advisor with Northwestern Mutual, and maintains offices in White Plains and New York City.    A life-long Westchester resident, Brendan and his wife Courtney live in White Plains, NY.

Daniel Papes is currently Vice President, Cloud Solutions, IBM Global Technology Services. Mr. Papes has worked with IBM for 26 years in various executive and general management roles, including managing IBM’s internet hosting, mobile enterprise services, network services (Canada), and portions of IBM’s network outsourcing businesses in the US and globally.  He also worked as a Senior Vice President of Mainspring Communications in 2001-2002. He earned a BA from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.  

Frank A. Schettino, CPA - Managing Partner, Anchin, Block & Anchin LLP
Mr. Schettino is the managing partner and a member of the executive committee at Anchin, where he has worked for more than 25 years fulfilling the accounting, business, and financial needs of closely held companies. His clients range from aggressive growth to well-established entrepreneurs. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). Mr. Schettino currently serves on the board of the Hudson Valley Hospital Foundation.  He received a BS from Fordham University.
