Dec. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- In a time where it's becoming increasingly important to be responsible towards our environment, JT Blinds of San Fernando, CA is introducing an effective program called EZ Choice that allows window coverings consumers to do their part. The PVC strip plays such an important role in the vertical blind product, however many are unaware that this is an item that can be recycled as opposed to being thrown away and further filling our landfills with chemicals.

“My inspiration for this program began when I was researching plastics and discovering how many bad chemicals are in it. Many don't realize how toxic some of the plastics coming in from China really are. PVC is made from chlorine gas which is bad for the environment. I had this vision after realizing that and when I heard about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in the Pacific Ocean. The patch is twice the size of Texas. It was an eye opener,” said JT Blinds President, Steve Tristan.

Through the EZ Choice program, JT Blinds will facilitate window coverings that would normally be thrown away, for recycling and re-distribution. From the recycled materials, the company produces an affordable and attractive modern looking designer product. The deluxe version has an S curve design and even looks like a drapery when installed. It's a great alternative to the purchasing and disposal of virgin PVC from overseas.

JT Blinds has also decided to donate blinds that are in good condition to the Habitat for Humanity charity, helping to provide window coverings to those in great need. This window coverings drive will be held on February 18th and all are encouraged to come by the store and give any old and unwanted blinds instead of disposing them.
