Follow on Google News | Novelist, Julie Reece, Set To Debut Crux, A Young Adult Novel, In July 2012Julie Reece has signed a publishing contract with J. Taylor Publishing for her debut novel Crux, a Young Adult Urban Fantasy/Paranormal Romance set in fictional Atlanta, GA.
“I struggled with multiple learning disabilities and did not excel in school,” says Julie, adding, “I spent much of my time looking out windows and daydreaming. In the fourth grade (with the help of one very nice teacher) I fought dyslexia for my right to read, like a prince fights a dragon in order to free the princess locked in a tower, and I won.” From this passion to read, Julie began writing, and in July 2012, she’ll see the fruits of her labors as her first novel, Crux, a young adult, urban fantasy/paranormal romance will release with J. Taylor Publishing — the first of the Young Adult line for the publisher. “We’re very excited to add Young Adult fiction to our catalog,” says J. Taylor Publishing. “We realize that many youth read adult novels in order to immerse themselves in the fantastical, but we believe, like many, that guys and girls between 14 and 18 have their own reading needs and interests. Stories with main characters between these ages are our main focus, and Ms. Reece’s Crux starts us of right where we want to be.” Crux, featuring 18 year old Rebecca Orin, takes a smart, gifted heroine with a lot of family baggage and pairs her with a charismatic hero. Though the story is romantic, the relationship isn’t the key to Rebecca’s future, her family history is — one she knows nothing of and of which she’ll have to both accept and learn from in order to survive, much like Julie’s own story of success with her own education. “My writing is proof you can work hard to overcome any obstacle. Don’t give up. I say, if you write, write on!” says Julie. For more information about Julie Reece, please visit http://www.juliereece.com/ # # # J.
