“Songs From…” is unique in its approach. The series tells a story through music, while at the same time exploring a specific location. It is all at once a song cycle, a web series, a music video, and an environmental art piece. As Brian states “it’s not just about our voices, it’s about our voices in relation to the found space.”
Levy states that she and Rodda developed this series as an outlet to “create art for art’s sake. Our goal is to share our love of music and to make people feel happy. Christmas is the perfect time of year to launch this project because there really is nothing better than the gift of music.”
The series is broken up into different editions and performed and recorded live with only the acoustics of their environment. The first edition takes place in a stairwell and is comprised solely of Christmas carols and holiday favorites.
As Brian says, “We’re tickled to share our ditties with you!”
