YouNow’s live music contest is the first of its kind and will showcase valuable real time social engagement capabilities that video-sharing and other streaming platforms don’t offer. How will YouNow pull off a live internet equivalent of American Idol? Through a proprietary collaborative live streaming technology, with audience voting “Likes” and “Dislikes”
Starting this Thursday, the top 3 MC’s of each weekly contest will win a spot in the finals, set to take place on January 19, 2012. The final 9 will be bringing their A-game for thousands of viewers to vote on, with a grand prize of $2,000 awarded to the top wordsmith on the web. Over $5,000 in cash, courtesy of YouNow, will be awarded to all contestants that prove they have what it takes to be the hottest MC on the web.
Directed by the innovative vision of founder and CEO, Adi Sideman, YouNow’s collaborative live broadcasting platform is a novel step interweaving social and mobile networks. “The future of Television is about allowing users to broadcast from anywhere and anytime and this is what YouNow is about. Weekly Contest 1: December 15, 6-8pm EST, (11pm-1am GMT)
Weekly Contest 2: December 22, 6-8pm EST, (11pm-1am GMT)
Weekly Contest 3: January 12, 6-8pm EST, (11pm-1am GMT)
Final Contest: January 19, 6-8pm EST, (11pm-1am GMT)
All Qualifiers will be held from 5-7pm EST (10pm-12am GMT).
