Blended from grapes sourced from premium South Australian growing regions, the wines are made to a fresh, fruit-driven style and aim to deliver a pound-for-pound drinking experience that is difficult to beat. Perfect for everyday drinking (it is almost summer after all) they are all made in the ‘Hesketh’ style, which is based on balance and complexity but more importantly, ‘drinkability’
2011 Wild at Heart Rosé
Cabernet franc grapes grown in the Adelaide Hills form the backbone of this ostensibly dry rosé. The fruit was picked at optimum ripeness and rested on skins for 24 hours before fermentation in stainless steel to achieve a bright, aromatic rosé. Candy pink in colour, the Wild at Heart Rosé has a light and spicy aroma with a palate of berry and citrus notes. This is a well-structured wine with a clean, dry finish – best enjoyed when putting your feet up after a long day at work. The Wild at Heart Rosé proudly supports the work of the McGrath Foundation, with $3.60 donated from every dozen sold.
2011 Rules of Engagement Pinot Gris
Fruit for this wine comes from the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia, where the cool to moderate climate produces pinot gris with natural acidity and distinctive varietal character – a perfect balance between the traditional French and Italian styles of pinot gris and grigio. Pale straw in colour, this wine has lifted aromas of citrus fruits with a hint of ripe melon. A crisp and clean palate is nicely integrated with richer tropical fruit notes and a persistent and vibrant finish.
2010 Cruel Intentions Shiraz
This bright, aromatic shiraz is made from grapes grown in the Currency Creek and McLaren Vale regions on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Dark cherry in colour with bright purple hues, the Cruel Intentions Shiraz has aromas of dark berry fruits, cedar and hints of dried herbs. A seam of spicy elegance has been retained on the palate with some vanilla from American oak. Primary fruit and oak flavours are balanced neatly, producing a wine begging to be washed down with pizza, BBQ meats or simply on its own.
The White Label wines are named after Georgina Hart’s paintings, which appear on the labels and encapsulate the spirit of the Hesketh White Label range. More of Georgina’s work can be found at www.georginahart.com.
The Hesketh family has been involved in many facets of the Australian Wine Industry for over 50 years, but have only produced wine under their name since 2006. Hesketh wines are available nationally via independent fine wine retailers, restaurants and online at
