13 December 2011 – Search engines which pick up Web content still want quality over pure keyword manipulation, and quality content that provides optimum user experience and usability is the main priority for businesses that want to succeed.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is no longer about stuffing keywords into bodies of texts that can offer nothing other than generic information. Search engines, the center of every SEO strategy of any small and medium business (SMB), are getting smarter at picking up which sites offer a useful experience to their end-users and which are just doing good jobs at targeting keywords.

Aside from website structure and design elements however, the main content of the website need to be of high quality. They need to not only be grammatically correct and semantically cohesive, but they need to present what their readership is after – the information they were looking for in the first place. The main concern is to offer the user the most value for their visit. It’s all about user experience and how SEO is only one facet of a greater strategy to achieve that end.

Leading search engine Google is a good example of why the focus has shifted from keywords and Meta data to quality content. It’s not so much as link juice and meta data are insignificant anymore, but they’re simply a given, while the central concern is the quality of the content and what it can offer the users referred to them by Google. Search engines are all about relevance, and to Google, this means they need to give their users a list of not only the most relevant websites for their users, but also the most useful ones. Usually the most relevant sites are the most useful ones, anyway.

With Google incorporating social media and the overall user experience more and more, marketers, SMB owners, and merchants will find themselves wanting more quality and useful content instead of just traffic generating ones that might defeat their own purpose if Google finds out they’re just keyword-stuffed text. Using article marketing to promote your affiliate product (http://www.affiliatemarketingforthetechnicallychallenged....), therefore, is now all about providing the right sort of information to the right audience.
