Our bodies are intricate machines that are constantly striving to find balance. Throughout history food has been our medicine, allowing the body to heal and restore itself. However, in our modern cutlure we are constatnly bombarded with toxins, substances that accumulate in the body and cause it harm. Toxins can be found in the enviroment, household cleaners, and even the food we eat. Over time these toxins build up and damage our cells and tissues, shutting down our defenses and making it difficult for our bodies to repair naturally. A juice cleanse works internally to release toxin build up, strengthen the body's vital functions and replenish supplies of enzymes, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

During your detox, through the process of eliminating these foods, you will feel better, have more energy and allow your body to heal and detoxify naturally. If this is a radical departure from your normal diet, you can expect to lose a few pounds. However, our primary goal is not weight loss, but to set you on the path of healthful eating so your body can naturally reach its desired equilibrium.

A typical day might include: Good-Life Gourmet’s signature breakfast pilaf (quinoa, dried apricots, dried figs, sunflower seeds and walnuts), our Market Salad (various greens and fresh vegetables, quinoa, edamame, pumpkin seeds and almonds with in-house vinagrette dressing), carrot sticks with homemade hummus, a dinner of Arctic char, sautéed kale and millet with roasted vegetables, and one ounce of dark chocolate to end the day. Menus change weekly and vegetarian options are always available. Packages can be purchased in five-day increments and will be delivered Tuesday through Saturday.
