Novotus is a recruiting organization based in Austin, Texas and was founded in 2003 by Mike Mayeux, CEO. The initiative was held in conjunction with the upcoming holidays and was a friendly competition between departments to collect the most pounds of food.
“I’d like to take credit for this act of kindness but I can’t. Other than contributing to the drive, the thanks go to Amanda Marfisi for leading this worthy cause,” explained Mayeux.
Mayeux knows his food. The company has its own commercial-grade BBQ pit and every now and then, he creates a special batch of his secret BBQ spices and sends to friends, family and clients.
“It breaks my heart to think that there are people – especially children – right here in Austin who go to bed hungry every night. I’m proud of my employees for giving back to our community,” Mayeux said.
According to the Capital Area Food Bank, Texas has the highest percentage of children in the country, 22 percent, who suffer from “food insecurity” – not enough food to maintain healthiness standards.
Novotus is a nationally recognized Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) firm delivering recruiting services to small and mid-size firms along with Fortune 1000 companies since 2002. Novotus recently received the 2011 Best of Client Staffing award.
