$55 Million Transformation of Bryan Retirement Community Will Provide Vibrant Lifestyle, Local Jobs

Dec. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Bryan, Texas — Construction will begin immediately on the second and final phase of Arbor Oaks at Crestview, the region’s first Life Care retirement community. Methodist Retirement Communities, the not-for-profit sponsor of Arbor Oaks, has secured financing for the project that will provide housing and a vibrant, maintenance-free lifestyle for more than 150 older adults. The first phase of transforming the current Crestview Retirement Community at 2505 E. Villa Maria Road in Bryan began in 2009 with the construction of the health center, which is complete and currently open.

   “This is a significant step in bringing the exciting Life Care experience to the Bryan-College Station area,” said Ron Jennette, president and CEO of Methodist Retirement Communities. “We’ve received deposits on 100 percent of the residences at Arbor Oaks, which tells us that area seniors are very much in support of the Life Care concept.”

   As a Life Care community, Arbor Oaks will feature 92 maintenance-free independent living apartment homes in a variety of spacious floor plans. Residents will also have lifetime access to a continuum of care at the on-site health center, including 48 assisted living, 48 private and semi-private skilled nursing, and 18 dedicated memory support residences, if ever needed.

   “With the quality care and service offered at Arbor Oaks, there’s no worry if health challenges arise,” said Jennette. “The health care costs for residents are at predictable, below-market rates. That’s a true comfort for our residents and their families.”

   Arbor Oaks’ lifestyle will include a variety of activities and amenities such as restaurant-style dining, a fitness center, library, creative arts center and much more.

   The project will provide hundreds of temporary jobs through completion in early 2013, and many more full-time and part-time positions when the community is fully operational.
