Dec. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- One of the UK’s fastest growing experience day websites brought a touch of glamour to London’s Underground network last week, after converting one tube carriage on the Hammersmith & City line into a first class area for passengers.

With spa days and pampering sessions being amongst the most popular experience days on sale at www.wish.co.uk, the site decided to offer the public a bit of something special in a place where relaxation and pampering would normally be the last thing on peoples’ minds; the London Underground.

On Thursday 8th December, for one day only, a team was brought in to turn a section of a tube carriage on the Hammersmith and City line into a first class area. The section was complete with plush gold cushions, a red carpet, maitre d’, free non alcohol champagne and spa facilities such as robes, slippers and cucumber eye treatments.

The first class carriage was available for passengers between 1pm and 3pm on Thursday last week and was free of charge to enter for those lucky enough to stumble across it.

One commuter commented on the first class tube carriage;

“What a fabulous idea this was. There I was, thinking it would be like any other journey on a crammed carriage and I came across a nice red carpet and a lovely gentleman in a tuxedo. It’s not every day you get to travel in style like that on the tube and I just hope that TFL consider introducing real first class carriages!”

Richard Kershaw, co-founder of Wish.co.uk, spoke about the first class tube carriage;

“We know from the sales of our pamper days and spa treatments that everyone likes a bit of first class treatment every once in a while, so thought we’d bring that to a place people would expect it least.

“I very much agree that TFL should consider introducing first class sections to their tubes permanently, as it’s definitely something that would go down well with passengers!”
