Dec. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- The USTA announced at this celebration that they have reconstructed and created 3,000 tennis courts in the U.S. Throughout this past year, the USTA`s facilities assistance group has succeeded in the construction and reconstruction of tennis courts in 45 states in compliance with their 10 and Under tennis initiate that was implemented at the beginning of this year.

These renovations comply with the ITF`s new rule, set to take place on January 1, 2012. The rule requires that all youth tennis courts be designed to allow participation of children 10 years old and younger. It also states that all courts need modified equipment including smaller courts, lower nets, smaller racquets, lower compression tennis balls and a scoring system easier for children to understand.

The new courts with their modified equipment and simpler rules will give youths more confidence when playing on the tennis court. The USTA is also collaborating with Michelle Obama and her “Let`s Move” campaign, which works to promote healthier lifestyles among young people.

These 3,000 tennis courts need equipment like racquets and balls but another important tool that is often overlooked is the tennis ball hopper. Tennis ball hoppers can save practice time and can also be great teaching tools. Many of them are designed for traveling coaches and clinics; perfect for big groups of children learning how to play this fun, yet difficult sport.

Something like the Deluxe Cub Cart, #1274202, would be perfect to use for teaching big groups. It is the right height with two storage trays, holding up to 325 tennis balls. It has a locking lid and comes with a basket hanger and a water bottle holder. The Gamma Brute Teaching Cart 325 Ball hopper also holds a maximum of 325 tennis balls and is another great option for teaching and playing with large groups of children. It is designed to fit through gates and doorways and is heavy duty, made to withstand everyday use.

The Gamma Roller Hopper 150 ball hopper makes picking up tennis balls quick and easy. It acts as a ball hopper and an excellent teaching tool. This ball hopper is also super lightweight, ideal for smaller children. The handles detach for easy transport and can be easily used on all court surfaces. The Head Teaching Cart #588990 comes with a lifetime wheel guarantee for added protection. Head offers this lifetime guarantee because they have faith in their wheels. Head has replaced the breakable plastic inserts with a durable solid steel shank. The ball bearings on axles and casters are sealed to resist dust, dirt and clay.

Ball tube ball hoppers are another option for the new junior courts because they are fun to use! They don`t hold as many tennis balls as the carts but they make picking up the balls an entertaining and easy task. The HOAG Hoagee Ball Tube #3113 is lightweight and durable. So durable, in fact, that the flexible 4' long red tubing will not crack or become fragile when stepped on; which is bound to happen with a large group of children running around.

The Gamma Ball Tube 15 Ball hopper is actually designed for younger players because it is so lightweight and easy for children to carry and comes with a convenient shoulder strap for easy portability. Another reason why ball tubes would be such a good option for these new courts is because they are so inexpensive.

It is so wonderful that the USTA and the “Let`s Move” campaign have embraced the ITF`s new rule. Tennis not only keeps juniors active in an age where video games have replaced outdoor activities, but the game promotes skill and brain power. The courts are a fantastic move in the right direction to keep kids active, however, we can`t forget about the equipment, like tennis ball hoppers, that the game requires.
