Dec. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- The company commander responsible for all Army and Army Reserve recruiting in southwestern Missouri and southeastern Kansas will present an award check to Neosho High School after three Neosho counselors won an Army “Grid Challenge” competition held recently at the Missouri School Counselors Annual Fall Conference.

Capt. Mary Griffin, commander of Joplin Army Recruiting Company, will present a five hundred dollar check at the Neosho school board meeting December 12, 2011.

Neosho guidance counselors, Heather Hughes, Wendy Linton and Joanne Slama, won the award by identifying Neosho Soldiers Darrell Boyd and Mark Rowe as Army Strong.  Both men are Army recruiters assigned to the Kansas City Army Recruiting Battalion.  Their local office is at 3103  Lusk Drive, Ste 104, in Neosho.

The Army grid challenge was the brainchild of Rita Hanks, the Education Specialist for the Kansas City Army Recruiting Battalion, and was designed to reconnect Army recruiters with key influencers in the state of Missouri.
