The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge Unveils Cooking School Schedule

PRLog (Press Release) - Dec. 12, 2011 - The Ballantyne Hotel & Lodge is pleased to announce its 2012 curriculum for its popular Cooking School. Celebrating its fifth year, Cooking School continues to evolve and celebrate the palate in rewarding and unexpected ways. Under the direction of Chef de Cuisine J. Kelly Morrow and Executive Sous Chef David Moore, Cooking School offers an entertaining, informative and interactive class for all culinary levels.

Cooking School begins with a welcome reception with a continental breakfast, mimosas and Bloody Marys. Chef Morrow and Chef Moore will lead the class in preparing a variety of dishes, detailing all of the techniques and aspects of presentation. Each class will be limited in size, designed to give students personal attention and hands-on instruction.

March 17 – Cheese! Need We Say More?

April 14 – Lamb, Nose to Tail  

July 21 – Fish & Shellfish – MF Foley & Gallery Signature Dishes

August 11 – Pairings – Local Farms, Distilleries & Breweries

October 27 – BBQ – Featuring our Local Baucom’s Best Beef

December 1 – Cooking Techniques – Traditional & Modern French

Cooking School is held on a Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Upon completion of each session, attendees will receive a folder of recipe cards. The cost for each session is $85 plus tax & gratuity. Reservations are required at 704-248-4100.
