Dec. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Nicholas Mangee, assistant professor of economics at Armstrong Atlantic State University, received a scholarship to study advanced macroeconomics and conduct research at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark during August 2012.

The award is part of an Institute of New Economics Thinking (INET) grant to research imperfect knowledge economics, a school of thought developed by economists Roman Frydman and Michael D. Goldberg.

The three-week program is geared towards enhancing the understanding of the most statistically complex models in macroeconomics and finance. The course will be taught by the University of Copenhagen’s professor of econometrics Søren Johansen, professor of economics Katarina Juselius, and lecturer for advanced macroeconometrics Josh Stillwagon.

“The time-series econometrics program at the University of Copenhagen will provide me with a unique skill-set aimed at developing a deeper understanding of the interaction between economic theory, advanced statistics and institutions in a more dynamic framework,” Mangee said. “Specifically, my research will investigate the relationship between stock prices and the macroeconomy over varying lengths of time.”
