Generator Hostel Wins ‘Best Mobile App’ At This Years BYTA Awards

Dec. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Generator Hostel celebrated another success at this years British Youth Travel Awards. The international hostel chain took proudly home the trophy for ‘Best Mobile App’.

The BYTA awards ceremony was held at the Courthouse Hotel London in the West End on December 8th, where the final winners were announced by British Paralympic Athlete Ade Adepitan.

The British Educational Travel Association, a not-for-profit trade association providing development and networking opportunities for travel specialists, received a record number in submissions this year. Dedication and passion in the youth travel industry are at its highest and the panel of judges had to face some hard decision.

Earlier this year the hostelling giant developed an informative and multi- lingual travel App that made booking easier for the modern flash packer. The simple and user friendly functionality and real-time booking ability of the hostel App has Generator Hostel again put ahead of the game and made them score another accolade.

Alison Armitage, sales and marketing director at Generator Hostels said on the reception of the award “Over the last 12 months we’ve seen 383 per cent increases in access to our online sites from smart phones and tablet computers. Being recognized with an award for the development of our first hostel App makes us very proud and supports our efforts into making our booking channels as easy accessible as possible.”

Generator Hostels already made it in the TOP Ten at this years WYSTC App Yap award  in Barcelona and been nominated as ‘App of the Month August’ from KnowYourMobile with their unique and straight forward hostel App.
