Follow on Google News | Plastic Scale Modeling Goes On The AirPlastic scale modeling enthusiasts have a new place to hang out. Warbird Radio’s latest venture, The Plastic Scale Modeling Hour, offers online discussions with experts, enthusiasts, and other special guests such as industry reps and authors.
The new show airing Thursdays at 7 p.m. features not only discussion, but tips, techniques, product reviews and announcements. "As those in our niche become more dependent on technology to get information and to interact with others sharing the same hobby interests, internet radio and the power of podcasting offers new tools for reaching our audience … a step that many other hobbies have already embraced and found rewarding," says Voigt. Three episodes of The Plastic Scale Modeling Hour have aired and are available for listening and download on WarbirdRadio.com and iTunes. The first show featured special guest, Zach Baughman from EAA's AirVenture Museum. The discussion included EAA's recent ScaleVenture Model contest and a scale modeling exhibit on display at the museum. The second show featured Hal Miller, Editor at Model Retailer Magazine. Interesting discussion ensued about the state of the hobby, iHobby Expo, Tamiya Paints and other topics on the minds of callers. Excited about the response, Miller has volunteered to be a monthly guest for The Hobby Industry Report segment, answering questions during the show and developing ideas for future shows based on topics raised in listener questions. Episode three covered one man's efforts to use his collection of scale models and reference resources to create a public museum and library in America's Heartland. These topics and more are sure to interest plastic scale modelers of every age and gender. Don't miss the next show, airing Thursday, December 15 at 7:00 p.m. EST. Topics and guests have been booked out as far as February, and even more participation is expected from potential guests expressing interest to support the weekly program.
