More than 130 Bilzin Sumberg volunteers were in attendance, comprised of attorneys, staff, and their families, to spruce up the community center, enhance existing murals, beautify the landscape and make improvements to the classrooms. Additionally, the firm’s volunteers painted a Zulu-inspired mural drawn by a local artist.
Through Bilzin Sumberg Cares, the firm aims to provide attorneys, staff and their families’ opportunities to work together to benefit non-profit and charitable organizations throughout the local community. Most recently, Bilzin Sumberg held a women’s clothing and baby supplies collection drive for Lotus House, a resource center and residential facility serving homeless women and infants in the heart of Miami’s Overtown neighborhood.
“It was a pleasure spending the day at the TACOLCY Community Center in Liberty City and seeing the smiles on all of the children’s faces when – and on the building itself -- our work was complete,” said Marshall Pasternak, corporate partner and head of Bilzin Sumberg Cares. “But while the day was special, we are cognizant that real involvement extends far beyond a single act.
