Dec. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- High Country Harley-Davidson is excited to announce that the Maverick Motorsports stores in Cheyenne and Laramie are joining the High Country family.   Both stores will transition to the High Country brand over the coming weeks.

High Country’s owners - Scott and Rachel McMorris - could not be more excited to be part of the Wyoming community, where Scott and his family are still active.

“I was born in Denver, moved to Timnath, Colorado in 1979, where my parents still live today. I went to High School in Fort Collins, and graduated from CU Boulder with a Business Degree in 1988. In addition to the other family businesses, my family has been involved in raising cattle in both Colorado and Wyoming for the past thirty years. We have had Wyoming ranching operations for the past 20 years including our current cattle ranch in Medicine Bow, Wyoming.” said Scott. He continued, “My wife, Rachel, and I have been married for the past fifteen years. We have four beautiful children ages 8, 9, 13, and 15. We purchased High Country Harley-Davidson/Buell in May of 2000. We have worked together in the dealership for the past twelve years improving customer service standards and expanding service hours and capabilities to suit our customers’ schedules and needs. We are excited about the opportunity to bring our philosophies to the Cheyenne and Laramie stores.”

“The combined resources of all 3 locations will significantly benefit all of our customers”, said Rachel McMorris.  “We’ll be able to offer a much better selection, competitive prices, competitive labor rates, and an overall superior customer experience.”

“High Country is well-known for providing a real community where friends gather to eat, drink and go for rides.” said Terry Unrein, the new General Manager of the Wyoming operations. He continued, “We want to bring that kind of community to the Wyoming stores.  As they say ‘You Meet The BEST People At High Country’ and whether it is our managers, our staff, or most importantly our customers, we want to make that a reality at all High Country locations.”

“I was born and raised on a small family ranch outside of Fort Lupton, Colorado.  My passion for motorcycles and ATV’s began at the age of 7 years old with my first bike. I’m an avid rider and currently own a Road Glide FLTRX.” said Terry. He continued, “I received a business degree at Colorado State University where I also played football.  I was lucky to be drafted into the NFL in 1986 by the San Diego Chargers and ended my career with the San Francisco 49ers in 1989. My two sons have also graduated from CSU.  I bring over 20 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain engineering and business development.  I’ve also been through two multimillion dollar mergers in the last 10 years.  In my 11 years with CEVA Logistics I was heavily involved with Harley-Davidson® in outsourced global warehousing, finished bike transportation, parts and distribution. I spent several years living in Asia and currently live in Atlanta, Georgia and am in the process of relocating immediately.”

Jason Severson and the rest of the Maverick staff are also excited about joining the High Country family.  Rachel McMorris said, “Given his long history with Maverick, Jason will be instrumental in making sure the transition is smooth for customers and employees alike.  This is an exciting time and we know we need all of the former Maverick staff to ensure it all comes together.  We would also like to hear from anyone interested in becoming part of our team - we are planning to grow and are looking for qualified, experienced people who share our passion for motorsports!  Just email info@highcountryharley.com.”

At the Frederick, CO location, Bones Engelman the Operations Manager, is delighted about the potential to provide more options to the local customers.  “With the expanded range of products available from the Wyoming stores, we’ll have the opportunity to deliver the same great service to our local customers for brands such as Honda, Can-Am Spyder, Can-Am ATVs, and even Ski-Doo snowmobiles. Of course, we know Harley-Davidson® will remain our primary focus, but it will be exciting to coordinate with the other stores to essentially become a one-stop shop for all of our customers’ motorsports needs.”
