By: River East Emerging Leaders (r.e.e.l.) Since 2003, Tracee has been a general assignment reporter at the area's number one news station and is usually seen out covering breaking news stories during early and mid-morning news programs. She is a native of the Washington area, having grown up in Prince George's County, Md. Tracee founded a teen-mentoring group called Girls R Talking and is a member of the Federal City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta. She currently resides East of the River. Awards Coordinator and Vice President Troy Donté Prestwood: "We are excited to welcome Tracee to the r.e.e.l. family as host of our first-ever Awards program. As an active resident of our community, Tracee exemplifies the amazing spirit, tenacity and dedication of the individuals and organizations we are honoring. She will be a great host." The Inaugural Distinguished Service Awards honors individuals or organizations that have had significant impacts East of the River through service and outreach endeavors. The Awards selection committee—comprised of r.e.e.l. members—issued Awards to individuals and organizations from Wards 7 and 8 as well as to a volunteer of the year. An announcement of the Award recipients will be made on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011. The annual Holiday Social takes place from 7-10:00 p.m. with the Awards program featured from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Community leaders, elected officials, local residents, organizations and businesses from Wards 7 & 8 and beyond will be in attendance. The greater community is welcome to attend and new member registration will be available at the event.
