Dec. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- Up-and-coming Atlanta star, comedienne Katrina Pope, to be featured act for Ware Professional Organizers LLC holiday charity event to benefit the American Cancer Society.  The company's 1st Annual Magic City Pre-Christmas Jam promises to be THE party of this holiday season in Birmingham.  It will take place at the M Lounge on First, 2209 - 1st Avenue North, in downtown Birmingham, AL, Thursday, December 15, 2011, from 8:00 pm to 1:00 am.  This event will feature the best dance music by DJ New Era, party food and favors, a karaoke contest – and topped by the hilarious comedy of Katrina Pope.  And party-goers will be supporting a great cause - a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society, The Official Sponsor of Birthdays®.  

Born and raised in Jackson, MI, Katrina Pope moved to Atlanta the summer of 1996.  This self-proclaimed “professional student” worked various jobs throughout her life, including being in the Military for 10 years, Paralegal, Esthetician, Bartender, and eventually earning a BA in Criminal Justice in 2009 from St. Leo University. Her LSAT score of 125 convinced Katrina that this wasn’t competitive enough to attend law school and pursue a career as a Criminal Defense Attorney.  This determined, aggressive, yet humble woman would not be deterred, and turned her focus on comedy in February 2010.  Katrina’s ‘brutally honest’ approach landed her first comedy career appearance April 2010 when she opened for the nationally recognized comedian Doug Williams in Montgomery, AL – and she was a hit, despite microphone malfunctions and colorful language.  Less than 6 months later, Katrina performed to a sold-out crowd in her hometown of Jackson, MI, as along with gracing the stage at Uptown Comedy Club, Laughing Skull, Phat Comedy, Atl House of Comedy, Back Stage with Bruce Bruce, Miami Improv, West Palm Improv, (opening act for comedy veteran Marvin Dixon) Laugh Lounge, in New York, Moca lounge in Harlem, NY, and hosting her own comedy room and New Year Eve’s Party at the legendary Justin’s Restaurant.
