“Our mom passed in May and we used to go on a trip with her every year. We said we're going to take the money and do something like that again this year,” said Hernandez.
Only 18,000 tickets will be sold and more than 205 prizes raffled off. All proceeds will help the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme deliver programs to more than 8,500 youth.
The second place prize of $2,500 was awarded to Jane and Vincent Lee of Burbank. Oxnard residents Robert and Roxana Chappell, John Koger and Rodney Wagoner each won $500 as the fourth- through sixth-place winners. The Chappells donated the money they won back to the Boys & Girls Club.
All seven early bird winners are still entered to win the grand prize of $1 million.
Adults who purchase more than one ticket are also entered in a special multi-ticket drawing on Dec. 30 to win a 2012 Chevrolet Corvette (or $30,000 cash), a Harley-Davidson motorcycle or the trip of a lifetime to Paris, France. Plus, until Dec. 24, the Club is giving one free ticket to people who purchase three tickets, and donating a holiday dinner to a needy family in the ticket holder’s name.
Million Dollar Raffle tickets are $150. To view the complete raffle rules and prize list or to purchase tickets, visit www.bgcop.org/
