The nurse featured in the commercial is Jeanie Lyle, a real-life nurse at Lexington Medical Center who takes care of patients who are recovering from surgery. Lyle was the perfect person for the role. She and her husband David, a family practice physician in Lexington Medical Center’s network of care, have two sons currently serving in the military. Todd, age 31, is a Citadel graduate and Captain in the Army National Guard who flies helicopters. He’s serving in Iraq and Kuwait now. Wes, age 25, is a platoon leader in the Army, currently serving in Southern Afghanistan as an officer with the 125th Infantry Division. The marine featured in the commercial is actor Sky Barkley of Charlotte, North Carolina who is also a real-life United States Marine Corp Veteran, serving multiple tours in Iraq. Lexington Medical Center concepted the idea for the commercial and filmed it on the 7th floor of the hospital’s North Tower. The extras in the commercial are also hospital employees.
