Dec. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- San Francisco, CA – InterSchola http://interschola.com, a small business that helps schools save and earn money by selling their surplus goods, was chosen to compete for a $50,000 grant from the Pepsi Refresh Project. To be awarded the grant, InterSchola must garner enough votes via free online registration and text messaging. InterSchola asks those who want to support public schools to vote everyday until December 31, 2011 at http://www.refresheverything.com/interschola.

Founded in 2004, InterSchola serves school districts in six states, including one-third of districts in California. The Pepsi Refresh grant would help the small business reach more school districts, alerting them of the opportunity to save and earn money by selling their surplus in partnership with InterSchola.

Maximizing the value of no longer needed goods previously sitting in warehouses, InterSchola’s sales of items such as school buses, work trucks, food service equipment and surplus technology have returned nearly $15 million to budget-strained schools.

About InterScholaTM
InterSchola was established in 2004 to help school districts with surplus inventory realize the value of these assets while at the same time freeing up expensive storage space and valuable staff resources. InterSchola’s unique model is designed to eliminate the headaches associated with surplus disposal by managing the public auction process from start to finish and to ensure compliance with complex regulatory codes. Items sold have ranged from pianos to portable buildings, from computers to cars, and from food service to facility equipment. InterSchola has returned millions of dollars to schools, districts and other local public agencies and has helped save countless more dollars previously spent on staff, storage and surplus disposal costs.
