SUCHITRA ACADEMY’S FIRST SPORTS MEET
‘A sound mind exists in a sound body’. The adage was brought to life as Suchitra Academy held its 1st SPORTS DAY on 8th December on the lush and verdant campus of the school. The founder students’ body presented a colorful and vibrant display of games, and athletic events.
Arjuna Awardee, International Badminton player, Sri. Chetan Anand, the chief guest for the event was welcomed by The Managing Trustee Praven Raju and the school leadership team.
The school playground wore a festive look with colorful flags. The torch was lit by the chief guest Mr Chetan Anand and carried by the students. Mr Anand hoisted the flag and declared the sports meet open. Interesting races like Bhelpuri race, Tortoise race and the 50 metre races were conducted. The children also displayed their karate and gymnastic skills. The senior students entertained all with a display set to the tune of ‘ Wakka- Wakka’. The parents also participated enthusiastically in the races.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Anand, congratulated the management for organizing such a grand function. He told the students that they were lucky to have such beautiful and spacious school premises and play grounds.
He applauded the students and the staff on this successful maiden attempt and
encouraged the students to keep the spirits of the school high. ‘Indomitable spirit’, he
said, ‘comes from indomitable courage and perseverance’
Mr Chetan Anand gave away prizes to the winning students and parents.
The program ended with a vote of thanks proposed by the principal Mrs Renu Shorey.
