With the doom and gloom of the recession lingering, one start up manufacturer is bucking the trend. The Nursery Paint Company is a new manufacturing company based in South Yorkshire. The company produce VOC Free and antibacterial paint, specifically for use in nurseries. Today the products have received a major boost after independent laboratory tests have provided the paint with a BS EN71 certification.
“We have had such a fabulous response after launching the paint in the summer, that achieving this certification is the icing on the cake really” Helen Thomson found of The Nursery Paint Company says. “We worked so hard to produce a paint that was free from chemicals but did not compromise on quality, to receive this news from the Assay office makes all the long hours worthwhile” Helen Continues
The Certification issued by the Assay Office in Birmingham verifies that the paint is free from heavy metals which cause chemicals in the paint. Typically household paint can contain up to 10,000 chemicals and up to 300 known toxins which have been linked to a variety of illnesses.
“I only really worried about chemicals in paint, when I became pregnant with my first chid” Helen explains “I really wanted to give my baby the best start in life and was amazed effects standard paint could have, I couldn’t find a baby safe paint anywhere so I decided to make a range myself”
The company retails the paint via their e-commerce website www.nurserypaint.co.uk; all paint is made to order as it is produced from soya beans. The company is also building a network of Stockists so parents to be can pick up their paint whilst choosing their nursery furniture. After such a promising start the fate of this manufacturing company is on the rise.
