Rehabilitation Center Achieves Perfect Survey

Dec. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- The new Alden Estates of Skokie, the only short-term orthopedic recovery center on the North Shore, achieved a deficiency-free survey from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH). IDPH is the state regulatory body that ensures the safety and quality of health services provided to short-term care, long-term care and pediatric patients at health care facilities.
   Alden Estates of Skokie, which offers short-term therapy and rehabilitation, underwent a four-day survey that included extensive interviews with nursing staff and other employees as well as residents and their families, reviews of medical records, programs and services and tours of the facility. IDPH surveys are unannounced, which makes the facility’s achievement even more impressive.
   “I am very proud that Alden Estates of Skokie achieved a deficiency free survey. Very few health care facilities accomplish such a feat, which recognizes the top-quality nursing care programs that we offer. I am very thankful to have wonderful employees who take such good care of our residents and take pride in what they do,” says Lindsay Broadbent, administrator.
Alden Estates of Skokie offers 23 luxurious private rooms with en suite bathrooms as well as flat screen televisions, WiFi, an ice cream parlor, custom-made furniture and décor and restaurant dining with four-course, made-to-order meals at lunch and dinner and as well as an a la carte menu.
   The facility’s Optimal Rehabilitation Program and Therapy Center offer state-of-the-art therapy equipment and physical, occupational and speech therapies daily.  
   Every Alden Estates of Skokie employee is trained to understand and meet the unique needs of orthopedic guests. All staff must pass a certification course focused on orthopedic protocols and specific care plans, including hip replacement strength and endurance tests, assistive devices, pain management and treatment modalities.  
   Alden Estates of Skokie underwent a year-long multi-million dollar total top-to-bottom renovation earlier this year and is the only short-term orthopedic recovery center on the North Shore.
